Contemporary Dance at BRIC House

BRIC presents The Francesca Harper Project and The Kate Weare Company in two nights of contemporary dance programming

BRIC presents two exciting dance performances: The Francesca Harper Project’s The Look of Feeling : Chapter II : Existential Kabaret and The Kate Weare Company’s Unstruck. Both performances take place in conjunction with the exhibition Clifford Ross: Water | Waves | Wood, which will serve as a stunning backdrop for the dancers.

In The Look of Feeling : Chapter II : Existential Kabaret, Francesca Harper deconstructs memories from her childhood with her mother Denise Jefferson, who fearlessly directed The Alvin Ailey School for over 25 years. The piece illuminates Harper as a bold choreographer in discovery of her own legacy. July 29 at 7PM.

A new trio, Unstruck explores in movement and sound a process of live formation. Like stones in a river, or sound through a tunnel, the dancers forcibly shape themselves and are shaped by each other through unceasing contact and energetic exchange. The dance features an original score by composer Curtis Macdonald. August 3 at 7PM.
