Cumbe is holding dance classes in multiple locations
Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora dance is now holding adult dance classes in multiple locations - 3 in Brooklyn and 1 in Manhattan!

Keep moving with us in dance classes for adults and children! We left our original home on Fulton Street on January 31, 2015, but are now serving up your dance and fitness fix in more locations. Immerse yourself in the joy and vitality of dance and music from Senegal, Guinea, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Haiti, and a broad range of other cultures. Absolute beginners to experienced students will learn the rhythms and movements with our dynamic teachers.
We’re currently holding classes at 4 locations:
- Brooklyn Friends School - 375 Pearl Street (off Willoughby Street)
- Long Island University – 1 University Plaza (Enter on Flatbush Ave and DeKalb Ave., SW corner)
- Brooklyn Ballet - 160 Schermerhorn (between Hoyt and Smith Streets)
- Gibney Dance - 280 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, across the street from City Hall. Enter at 53A Chambers Street.
