Finding a Plumber in Fort Greene

My experience finding a plumber at odd hours in Fort Greene

I grew up in a small town outside of Chicago, so in my experience finding a plumber for a decent hourly price isn’t very hard to do. We just used to open the yellow pages and go to the top of the list. However in Brooklyn, it’s a different story.

A plumber’s hourly fee can be as high as $350/hour, and doesn’t seem to drop below $200/hour for anyone. I understand the challenges - everything in NYC is more expensive, and something basic like finding parking near my house can really extend the time it takes for a plumber to do a scheduled visit. However, it’s still hard for me to pay hundreds of dollars to get a leaky faucet fixed.

My experience was taken to the next level when I a pipe burst in my apartment on a Sunday. It needed to be fixed immediately, but most plumbers won’t schedule that quickly, especially on the weekend. I ended up looking for emergency plumbers, and landed on http://top24hourplumbing.com. The price skyrocketed to unbelievable amounts, but I guess my apartment avoided some serious water damage.
