Man Shot To Death Inside Brooklyn Apartment Building: NYPD
A 43-year-old man died after he was shot in the torso Sunday morning in Fort Greene, according to police.
BROOKLYN, NY — A man is dead after shots rang out inside a Brooklyn NYCHA apartment Sunday morning, and police are now scrambling to find the gunman, authorities said.
The shooting erupted around 10:50 a.m. inside an apartment at 75 Cumberland Walk in Fort Greene, police said. Officers responded to reports of gunfire coming from unit 12E at the Walt Whitman Houses.
When they arrived, they found 43-year-old Jamel Davis sprawled on the floor with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, cops said.

He was rushed by medics to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
What led up to the shooting is not known at this time.

Detectives are canvassing the area for evidence after the gunman fled on foot, police said.
