FORT GREENE — You’ve got three whole days to celebrate your freedom and fine spring weather — Memorial Day weekend is finally here. But since that lovely spring weather could mean rain and thunderstorms, you might want to stick close to home.

Patch has already curated a long list of fun events in New York City this weekend, but here are a few events you can check out without wearing out your MetroCard or galoshes.

Movies Under The Stars

  • Where: Myrtle Avenue lawn in Fort Greene Park
  • When: May 26 from 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
  • What: The American Black Film Festival presents “Destined,” the story of two men, both played by Cory Hardrict, as they explore the idea of fate.
  • How Much: Free

DanceAfrica Festival 2017

  • Where: Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave.
  • When: May 26 through May 29
  • What: The nation’s largest festival of African dance brings performance, art, film, community events, dance workshops, and an DanceAfrica bazaar to BAM. This year’s main event pays tribute to the music and dance of Guinea.
  • How Much: $20 to eat, $10 to drink

Pig Roast Cookout

  • Where: Atlantic Social, 673 Atlantic Ave.
  • When: May 29 Noon to 8 p.m.
  • What: Unlimited roast pig and rose plus fun and games.
  • How Much: $20 to eat, $10 to drink
