Movie Alert! Vacant Myrtle Ave Storefront Transformed Into a Parisian Boulangerie
Essential Ingredients, a Gustavo Ron film, is filming today in Fort Greene

Essential Ingredients, a Gustavo Ron film, which according to one of the gaffers was recently renamed My Brooklyn Bakery, is being filmed today on Myrtle Avenue and Adelphi Street. The dead giveaway? An amazingly realistic transformation of a vacant storefront into Isabelle’s Patisserie, a compelling French bakery so realistic that locals tried to stop in.
Ironically, Le Petit Bakery, a highly regarded patisserie run by owner and pastry chef Christopher Sanchez that closed it’s doors for good a month ago is two doors down the block from the movie shoot.
Perhaps the silver lining for this story will be an unexpected (and permanent) return of a fine local pastry shop....
