New Mediterranean Restaurant Coming To Fort Greene
A Craigslist ad posted Monday seeks bartenders, line cooks and a sous chef for a new restaurant opening on Dekalb Avenue in April.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — It looks like a new Mediterranean restaurant is going to open in Fort Greene, near the intersection of Dekalb and Carlton avenues.
Construction workers have been seen inside 184 Dekalb Avenue and a Craigslist ad posted Monday seeks bartenders, line cooks and a sous chef for a new Mediterranean bistro opening on “Dekalb at Carlton” in mid-April.
Peter Patel, 42, an employee of the Fort Greene Food Market next door, said construction workers have been going in and out for the past three months and one of them also told him the space — where Martha used to serve its American and Asian cuisine until closing in 2016 — will reopen in mid-April.

The new restaurant will serve “local and seasonal ingredients to create a unique twist on modern Mediterranean cuisine,” according to the Craigslist ad.
It also looks like the restaurant will feature a creative cocktail menu as its staffers are looking for a head bartender to “design a cocktail list.”

The Martha logo remains on the front windows, which are covered in brown paper. And a permit posted on the front door gives no clue as to the name of the new restaurant or who its owners might be.
We emailed the address posted with the Craigslist ad and tried calling Martha’s telephone number, but no one responded to the email and the telephone line had been disconnected.
If you have any more information on the new restaurant, we'd love to hear from you.
And if you’re looking to join the Fort Greene’s culinary workforce, you can find contact information for the bartender positions here and the kitchen positions here.
