Indian Dance and Music - AALOKAM

Bharathi and Jyotsna are two artists accomplished in the Indian Dance form, Bharatanatyam. Based in Manhattan, they are looking to share their joy and passion of the art form to New Yorkers.

Bharathi is the lead protagonist of the Indian National Award Winning documentary, O Friend, This Waiting and Jyotsna is a disciple of esteemed scholars Padmabhushan Shri. V.P Dhananjayan and Smt.Shanta Dhananjayan.

We successfully produced our first event - EKA : A Tryst with the Divine, which featured a live music ensemble of talented musicians to a full house. We performed the same at the SAIPAF 2015 and for the Curtain Raiser Event of the India Day Parade 2015 at the Indian Consulate.
