Williamsburg to Get Brooklyn's Second Trader Joe's

Don't be J.

Northern Brooklynites will no longer have to travel to Cobble Hill — or, God forbid, Manhattan — to get their Trader Joe’s on.

Ladies and gentleman: Trader Joe’s is coming to Williamsburg.

The newest branch of California’s hip, healthy grocery chain will be located near the riverfront at 206 Kent Avenue, between North Third Street and Metropolitan Avenue. It’ll be housed inside a brand-new, 18,000-square-foot building that has yet to be constructed on the long-vacant lot.

It’ll also have some competition a few short blocks away: Whole Foods is currently building its new Williamsburg outpost at Bedford Avenue and North Fourth Street.

Which will hopefully make both a little more honest when considering how hard to rip off neighborhood hipsters.
