HEMPSTEAD, NY — One person has been displaced after an early morning Hempstead fire on Thursday, fire marshals said.
Hempstead Fire Department responded to Beebe Ave. for a 1-story house fire at 7:18 a.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
Sixty firefighters battled the blaze, placing the fire under control within 30 minutes, fire marshals said.
South Hempstead, West Hempstead, Uniondale, Freeport, Rockville Centre, and Garden City fire departments provided mutual aid – all under the command of Hempstead FD Chief Roe, fire marshals said.
According to fire marshals, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the NCFM's Office and Police Arson/Bomb Squad.
