‱ LI Man Convicted Of Selling Cocaine To Undercover Cop In Commack, Melville: DA (patch.com) — A man from Freeport was convicted in Suffolk County of repeatedly selling cocaine to an undercover detective in Commack and Melville in 2025, and now faces a lengthy prison sentence. Prosecutors detailed multiple controlled buys and noted his prior felony record, while sentencing is scheduled for late September.
   

‱ Hicksville-based anti-illiteracy nonprofit, Book Fairies, expands (longislandpress.com) — A Hicksville-based nonprofit that once operated out of Freeport has expanded into a new warehouse triple the size of its original Freeport space, boosting its ability to fight illiteracy. Book Fairies has now distributed 6 million books and added three new board members to help guide its growing mission across the New York metro area and beyond.
