Arrest Made After Fatal Heroin Overdose
BREAKING: A 33-year-old man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal heroin overdose, Nassau Police say,

FREEPORT, NY – A 33-year-old man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into a fatal heroin overdose that occurred last year, Nassau Police said.
Narcotics Vice Squad detectives assisted the Freeport Police Department in investigating an overdose of a male in August 2016, police said.
The investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Howard, of Freeport. Howard is charged with four counts of third degree criminal sale of controlled substance and six counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Howard sold heroin on several dates in May and June, police said. He was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday on Front Street in Freeport. Detectives recovered 29 grams heroin, an undisclosed amount of cocaine, pills believed to be tramadol and hydrocodone (both painkillers), quinine and packaging materials.
Howard was arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead. He is being held on $10,000 bail and is due back in court Friday.
