Bayview Students Honor Local Police Officers

The students met local cops and learned what they do in a special day.

FREEPORT, NY - From Freeport Public Schools: As part of its commitment to helping students build relationships with local law enforcement, Bayview Avenue School in the Freeport Public School District hosted its 22nd annual Adopt-A- Cop event.

The program, designed for the school’s fourth-graders, was comprised of Village of Freeport police officers first meeting the students in the auditorium before accompanying them to their classrooms. The special guests spoke to students about the importance of being model citizens and assured them that their priority is to protect them. The event was aligned with Bayview’s ongoing lessons in character education.
