FREEPORT, NY — A homeless man was arrested and face a manslaughter charge in a crash that left a 24-year-old woman dead Wednesday night in Freeport.

Tyshaun Johashen, 32, was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra just after 7 p.m. that struck a woman on Babylon Turnpike near Carroll Street, authorities said. The woman died at the scene.

Johashen, who remained at the scene, was intoxicated at the time of the crash, police said.

Johashen faces charges that include second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. He is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.

Update: The victim has been identified by police as Mia Pollidore of Freeport.
