Duo Robs Uniondale Gas Station; 1 Man Remains At Large: Police

UNIONDALE, NY — A Freeport man has been arrested in connection to a robbery at a BP gas station in Uniondale.

Shaun Williams, 52, made a small purchase at the location on Front Street and left for a gray SUV on Dec. 22, police said.

At that time, an unknown man exited the driver's seat and passed a note to the clerk. He lifted his shirt to show a gun and the clerk complied by giving him money, detectives said.

That man has not been apprehended.

An investigation revealed that the duo also tried to rob a 7-Eleven in Hempstead on Jan. 5. The female clerk made several attempts to open the register, and they fled empty-handed.

Williams is charged with first- and second-degree robbery. He also faces a count of attempted robbery. Williams was due to be arraigned on Wednesday.
