Freeport Educational Foundation Gives $20,000 to District

The money will fund grant programs and scholarships for graduating seniors.

During the Dec. 21 Freeport School District Board of Education meeting, the board accepted a $20,834 donation from the Freeport Educational Foundation.

The donation will be used to support the implementation of nine innovative grants within the district and will also fund four $500 scholarships for four graduating members of the Class of 2017.

On behalf of the board and the school district, both Board President Michael Pomerico and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham thanked the foundation for its ongoing support and continued generosity.
