BREAKING: Police say he chased his neighbor down and stabbed her with a steak knife.

A Freeport man was arrested Friday after he allegedly stabbed his neighbor with a fork and slashed and stabbed her with a steak knife.

According to detectives, Thomas W. Cummings, 47, of Rose Street in Freeport, knocked on the door of a 35 year old female neighbor in the apartment complex in which they both lived at 9:45 p.m. Upon opening the door, Cummings allegedly pushed his way in and attacked her with a metal fork he was carrying, causing puncture wounds to her left arm and right hand.
