'George To The Rescue' Overhauls Freeport Boxing Facility
Owner Joe Higgins opened the gym to help serve underprivileged children in the community.

FREEPORT, NY — The home renovation show "George to the Rescue" is appearing in Freeport. The program will feature a newly upgraded community boxing facility run by Joe Higgins.
The episode with Higgins, a U.S. Marine and FDNY veteran turned local boxing legend, will air on Oct. 22.
Higgins, according to the show's release, has dedicated his life to helping underprivileged children navigate adolescence and find their identities through boxing.

Host George Oliphant with his team of volunteer designers and contractors finished a new extension and an interior design makeover for the training facility.
"George to the Rescue" airs on WNBC Saturdays at 9:30 a.m., and repeats at 7 p.m.
