GSNC Re-Elects Two Freeport Residents to 2023-2025 Board of Directors

Andrea Elder-Howell, Esq. Sworn in as President and Chief Volunteer Officer and Allison Bishop White, Esq. Sworn in as Member At-Large

Garden City, NY (MAY 2023)— Girl Scouts of Nassau County announced today that two Freeport residents, Andrea Elder-Howell, Esq. and Allison Bishop White, Esq., have been nominated as members of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors through 2025. In addition, Andrea Alder-Howell was also named President and Chief Volunteer Officer of the Board of Directors. Bishop White and Elder-Howell were two of 17 board members who were sworn in during the organization’s 58th Annual Meeting, which was held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Adelphi University campus. The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors comprises lifelong Girl Scouts, community leaders, and nonprofit and corporative executives who provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County council.

“Girl Scouts of Nassau County is proud to have such prestigious and accomplished members on its Board of Directors to inspire and empower our Girl Scouts,” said Randell Bynum, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am confident that this group of leaders will help cultivate the Girl Scout experience and help fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”

The Girl Scouts of Nassau County board of directors provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to build courage, confidence, and character in Nassau County girls. They will also help raise vital funds to expand access to Girl Scout experiences that socially, academically and emotionally empower girls throughout our community.

Andrea Elder-Howell has served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Nassau County since 2014. She is Managing Director, Vice President-Legal of PSEG Long Island. In this role, Ms. Elder-Howell leads the team on Long Island responsible for providing guidance on legal and regulatory issues. Prior to joining PSEG Long Island, Ms. Elder-Howell served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for RBS Sempra Commodities and Senior Commercial Counsel for KeySpan Energy/National Grid responsible for providing advice and counsel on numerous sophisticated commercial transactions in the energy industry. Ms. Elder-Howell also currently serves on the board of Mentor New York. She previously served on the executive boards of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She is a graduate of the Energeia Leadership program and a 2019 recipient of the Herald Premier Business Women of Long Island Awards. She has also received awards from The New York State Society of CPAs, Jack and Jill of America and New York State PTA for her dedication to promoting opportunities for youth on Long Island.

Allison Bishop White, Esq. has served on the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors since 2016. She is Senior Vice President, Head of Early Dispute Resolution at LPL Financial, where she leads a team of attorneys who are responsible for the investigation and resolution of matters involving the sale of securities products. Prior to joining LPL Financial, Allison was employed at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was a Director, and the New York Stock Exchange, where she held a number of senior roles. Ms. White is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Financial Women’s Association, the New York State Medical Review Board, and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. She also serves on the Public Policy Council of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
