Man Arrested For String Of Gunpoint Robberies: Police

FREEPORT, NY — A Freeport man has been arrested in connection to three Nassau County robberies, police said.

Juan Hidalgo, 40, entered each location, where he displayed a handgun and demanded cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets from employees, detectives said.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the robberies took place:

  • March 28 at Seasons Express in Cedarhurst
  • April 10 at BP Gas Station in Lynbrook
  • April 11 at BP Gas Station in Oceanside

In conjunction with Lynbrook police, Hidalgo was arrested at his residence without incident, police said.

He is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree attempted robbery.

Hidalgo was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday in Hempstead.
