Man Charged With 10 Nassau County Burglaries: Police

The Queens man was caught and arrested on Monday, police say.

FREEPORT, NY - A Queens man was arrested in Freeport on Monday and charged with 10 burglaries, including four in one day, across Nassau County between October and May, according to Nassau Police.

According to police, the Burglary Pattern Team conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of 56-year-old Andre Hampton for the following burglaries:

  • October 12, 2015 - DiStefano Landscaping on 1056 Northern Boulevard in Roslyn, proceeds included cash
  • October 25, 2015 - Eagle Nursery on 225 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park, proceeds included cash
  • November 1, 2015 - 7-Eleven on 159 Atlantic Ave. in Garden City Park, proceeds included cash
  • November 12, 2015 - M&R Collision on 1497 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, proceeds included cash
  • March 18, 2106 - All County Collision on 1289 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, proceeds included cash
  • April 16, 2016 - J&M Auto on 90 Underhill Boulevard in Syosset, proceeds included inspection stickers
  • April 16, 2016 - Syosset Tire on 86 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, no proceeds reported
  • April 16, 2016 - Rallye BMW on 86 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho, proceeds included a wallet containing credit cards
  • April 16, 2016 - Zaino’s Nursery on 900 Jericho Turnpike in Westbury, proceeds included cash
  • May 28, 2016 – Wantagh Mazda on 3180 Sunrise Highway in Wantagh, proceeds included safety/emissions stickers

Hampton was located by Freeport Police on Monday during a traffic stop on Sunrise Highway and placed under arrest without incident, police said.

He was charged with 10 counts of third degree burglary, police said. He will be arraigned on Tuesday.
