Man Dies After Road Rage Beating In Baldwin: Nassau Police
A Queens man has been charged with second-degree murder and DWI in connection, police said.
BALDWIN, NY — A man died from a violent beating following a road rage incident in Baldwin on Saturday night, Nassau police said.
Officers were dispatched for a crash at the intersection of Schuman Place and Forest Avenue just before 11 p.m., when a 26-year-old man driving a gray 2004 Infiniti G35 collided with a green 2003 Honda Mini Van driven by a 54-year-old man, according to detectives.
Both drivers got out of their vehicles and began to argue, detectives said. The Infiniti driver, Patrick Destine, 26, of Hollis, Queens, then violently beat the man, detectives said.

Destine continuously kicked the victim in his head causing severe head trauma, and after a short foot chase, police arrested him, detectives said. The man was declared dead at a hospital just after midnight.
The victim's identity has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing, detectives said.
Destine faces charges of second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated. He will appear in court Monday in Hempstead.
