Man Robbed At Gunpoint, Assaulted In Nassau Parking Lot

Police say the man was robbed and kicked by two men late Thursday night.

Nassau police are searching for two men who robbed another at gunpoint in Freeport Thursday night.

According to police, a 55-year-old man was in the back parking lot of 70 South Main St. when he was approached by two men. One of the robbers pulled out a handgun, and the man dropped to the ground. Police say both of the robbers pulled the man's backpack away from him, and then kicked him. The robbers fled with the bag, which contained cash and keys, into a newer model dark gray BMW.

The man suffered cuts and scrapes to his right arm and leg, as well as pain in his ribs from the kicks.

Both robbers were 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with medium builds. The first man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The second had a mustache and goatee.

Police ask anyone with information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
