Nassau Man Arrested For Attempted Murder
BREAKING: The victim was found outside a fire station having been shot multiple times.

A Freeport man was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a man found shot multiple times in front of a fire station in January, police said.
According to detectives, on Jan. 13, Freeport police officers received a call for a man found shot outside the Freeport Fire Department, located at 16 Broadway. Upon arrival, officers found a 42-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. An investigation revealed that the man was shot on Washburn Avenue and had drove himself to the fire department building and called police.
On Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6:42 p.m., Antonio Smith, 43, of Washburn Avenue, was arrested for the shooting. Smith is being charged with second-degree murder (attempt), first-degree assault tampering with physical evidence. He was arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
