Nassau Man Charged In String Of Burglaries: Police

A Freeport man was arrested by Nassau Police on Wednesday after police say they linked him to numerous burglaries over the last month.

According to police, Stephan Tirado, 27, of St. Marks Avenue, was at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday in Hempstead after a police investigation identified him as the man responsible for numerous burglaries in Hicksville, Westbury, East Garden City and Carle Place in October. Police say he pried open rear doors or windows and stole property, including food, cash and other business-related property.

Police say Tirado broke into the follow businesses:

• Oct. 2 – Nelly’s Taqueria, 356 W. Old Country Road, Hicksville
• Oct. 3 – Nelly’s Taqueria, 356 W. Old Country Road, Hicksville
• Oct. 22 – Home Depot, 1320 Corporate Drive, Westbury
• Oct. 22 – New York Community Bank, 615 Merrick Avenue, Westbury (Attempt)
• Oct. 22 – Houlihan’s, 725 Merrick Avenue, Westbury
• Oct. 22 – Redtree Radiology, 1570 Old Country Road, Westbury
• Oct. 28 – K&G Store, 650 Stewart Avenue, East Garden City
• Oct. 29 – Wells Fargo, 103 Old Country Road, Westbury
• Nov. 1 – Boston Market, 419 Old Country Road, Westbury (Attempt)
• Nov. 1 – Burger King, 409 Old Country Road, Westbury

Tirado is charged with eight counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of attempted third-degree burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
