Nassau Man Shot At Another During Argument: Police

Police said Lenny Traveras, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

FREEPORT, NY — A Freeport man was arrested Wednesday after police said he fired a gun at another man during an argument.

Lenny Traveras, 26, of Lincoln Place, got into an argument with a 27-year-old man in front of a home on Bedell Street at 3 p.m. on March 25, police said. Traveras pulled out a handgun and fired two shots at the man, both of which missed, and then fled, police said.

The man identified Traveras as the shooter, police said. Officers located Traveras at a home in Selden Wednesday and arrested him.

Traveras is charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, and third-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
