Nassau Police Make Arrest In Brutal Freeport Rape

Police say the man hit the woman in the face and knocked her out and then proceeded to rape her.

Nassau Police say they have arrested a man for the brutal rape that occurred in Freeport on Sept. 28.

According to police, Martinez Reyes, 24, of Oswald Place, Roosevelt, attacked a 36-year-old woman as she was walking on Parson Avenue at 1:43 a.m. Police say the Reyes hit the woman in the face and knocked her unconscious. When she woke up, she realized she was being raped and was able to get away.

Reyes is charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
