Nassau Teen Arrested After Robbing Store At Knifepoint: Police
Police called in helicopters to search for him, and found him hiding in the woods nearby.

A Nassau teenager was arrested Wednesday night after police say he robbed a Freeport convenience store at knifepoint.
According to police, Daniel Soto, 17, entered the 7-Eleven at 200 Merrick Road at 10:40 p.m. armed with a large steak knife. Police say he threatened the 48-year-old man working at the store and demanded cash from the register. The man complied, police say, giving Soto an undetermined amount of cash. After getting the money, police say Soto fled on foot.
The Freeport Police Department, working with the Nassau County police and its Aviation Unit, conducted a search nearby, and found Soto hiding in a wooded area near the southbound ramp of the Meadowbrook Parkway in Freeport. He was arrested without incident at 11:43 p.m.
