Police Release Photo Of Man Wanted For Freeport Rape

Police say the man attacked a woman in front of her home in the early morning last week and raped her.

Nassau County police have released the above image of a man they are looking for in connection with a rape that occurred in Freeport on Sept. 28.

According to police, the man pictured above attacked a 36-year-old woman as she was walking on Parson Avenue at 1:43 a.m. Police say the man hit the woman in the face and knocked her unconscious. When she woke up, she realized she was being raped.

The woman was able to break free and break a window on the home, which alerted her family inside and caused the attacker to run off, News 12 reported.

Police are still asking for the public's help to identify the attacker. They say that people may have seen the incident and not known a crime was being committed.

Police say the attacker is a Hispanic man, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a slight to medium build. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a long green T-shirt with a graphic design and a two-tone baseball cap. He was last seen near Elm Street and Ray Avenue in Freeport.
