Queens Woman Embezzled More Than $130K From Nassau Business: NCPD

Police say the woman cashed the business's checks to herself over a period of more than a year.

Nassau police arrested a Glendale woman on Tuesday and charged her with embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from her employer over the course of more than a year.

According to police, Juana Corona, 51, of Myrtle Avenue, was employed by Restoration Management Plus Inc., located on West Merrick Road in Freeport. Police say that, between June 16, 2016 and July 30, 2017, Corona endorsed 37 business checks and deposited the funds in her personal accounts. Police say she stole approximately $133,600 from the business.

Corona was arrested at her home on Tuesday without incident and was charged with grand larceny and seven counts of second-degree forgery. She was arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
