Roosevelt Announces Class of 2025 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Ingrid Moran Leon and Jacob Cruz Are the Top Students of the RHS Class of 2025
Ingrid Moran Leon and Jacob Cruz are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Roosevelt High School class of 2025. Both students have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, passion and commitment.
Valedictorian Ingrid Moran Leon has a weighted GPA of 101.75 and boasts a versatile resume of activities and achievements. A dedicated student leader, Ingrid is also president of the grade advisory and vice president of the student government—two organizations with which she has been involved for all four years of high school.
Since her freshman year, Ingrid has also excelled on the Roosevelt High School soccer team and a scholar on the National Honor Society and Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP). She also displayed ambition and work ethic as a member of the TryEngineering Summer Institute, where she shadowed engineers and gained real-world experience in mechanical design. She also worked independently in providing cleaning services to multiple homes while balancing her academic, athletic and extracurricular endeavors.

Ingrid has earned several awards for her academic excellence, including the principal’s honor roll for two consecutive years; the Academic Achievement award from the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs, December in 2023; the Math, Accounting, & Finance Award from the Office of the Nassau County Comptroller in 2024; the AP Scholar Award in 2024; the AP Seminar and Research Certificate in 2024; a certificate from the National Hispanic Recognition Program (2024); and a certificate from the National First-Generation Recognition Program in 2024.
Salutatorian Jacob Cruz has a weighted GPA of 100.32 and has shown commitment to student leadership and involvement. Since his freshman year, he has been a member of student government and helped spearhead school spirit rallies, food drives, fairs, giveaways and fundraisers. Since his sophomore year, he has been an active member of the national Honor Society with which he has helped run food drives, fundraisers and school visits.
