Roosevelt High School Varsity Football Team Makes History this Season

Rough Riders complete first season in highest conference in program history

The Roosevelt High School Varsity Football team faced a new challenge this season as they moved up to Conference 2, representing their highest conference in program history. The Rough Riders rose to the occasion by finishing their regular season with four wins, in addition to earning the Nassau County Coaches Association’s Community Service Award.

“For the first time in Roosevelt history, the Rough Riders competed in Conference 2 and held their own in each game,” said Athletic Director Eamonn Flood. “We commend every student on the team for their efforts and successes this season. We also congratulate them on earning the Community Service Award for their passionate services and philanthropic events this fall.”

This fall, the Roosevelt Varsity Football team contributed to the United Cerebral Palsy Center, participated in the Breast Cancer Walk and held a District-wide blood drive. They were recognized for their efforts by the Nassau County Coaches Association, which presented them with this year’s Community Service Award.
