Roosevelt School District Presents The Lion King Jr.

The Roosevelt School District's highly anticipated spring drama production of The Lion King Jr. was a roaring success. The amazing Roosevelt Performing Arts team recently performed the wonderful show, featuring students from all five schools in the District. The talented cast and crew brought this magical performance to life in a way that will be remembered for years to come.

"We couldn’t be prouder of the effort, dedication, and creativity shown by the cast and crew who brought this timeless story to life," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Shawn Wightman. "It was truly a team effort that fully immersed the audience in an extraordinary experience. This production was a testament to the incredible talent and hard work of everyone involved."

Roosevelt students transformed their stage into Pride Rock during a powerful rendition of “The Circle of Life,” then tantalized the crowd as Scar and his band of hyenas performed an intense rendition of “Be Prepared.” Every individual played an essential role in creating a show filled with creativity, energy, and heart.

The Lion King Jr. brought together students, families, and community members in a celebration of theater, the arts and teamwork. Everything from the emotional performances and choreography to the set design, costumes and lighting demonstrated the District’s commitment to multidisciplined arts education.
