Held on October 8, 2022, the Uniondale Union Free School District Homecoming celebration was a huge success. To commence the celebration, scholars, family and community members gathered to watch the Homecoming parade, led by the Uniondale High School JROTC Knights Battalion. The festive parade featured scholars of all ages and schools showcasing clubs, sports and activities.
The Uniondale Knights High School Marching Band, Turtle Hook Middle School Band and the Lawrence Road Middle School Band all performed throughout the parade. The School Board, the Uniondale Fire Department and the Homecoming king and queen also marched.
"I could not be more proud to call myself a Uniondale Knight," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Monique Darrisaw-Akil. "The Uniondale School District is one of great passion. I love seeing our community members out in the streets cheering on parade marchers and in the stands at our sporting events. Seeing this school spirit and everyone uniting together to celebrate our exceptional scholars is one of the many reasons I love my job."
