Woman Embezzled Tens of Thousands from Nassau Company: Police
BREAKING: Detectives say she took checks and deposited them in her own account.

Police arrested a Bay Shore woman on Tuesday and charged her with embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from a Freeport medical company for the last two years.
According to detectives, Ana Carrera, 46, of Elsie Lane, while employed as an office manager was also responsible for handling medical billing for the office of Twin Country Podiatry, located at 33 North Ocean Ave.
From 2014 to today, police say Carrera stole incoming insurance checks, endorsed them with her name and deposited them into her personal bank account. According to police, a subsequent investigation revealed that more than 300 checks were stolen, causing a loss of more than $58,000 to the business.
