11-Year-Old Boy Seriously Hurt After Falling 30 Feet Off Escalator at Roosevelt Field Mall

BREAKING: The boy fell onto his mother Sunday afternoon, police say.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY – An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured after falling about 30 feet from the top of an escalator at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the boy was inside the Neiman Marcus store and was hanging onto the railing of the escalator as it was going up shortly after 3 p.m.

When he reached the top floor, he fell about 30 feet, striking his 33-year-old mother, police said.

The boy is listed in serious condition with a head injury at a local hospital. His mother suffered an injury to her foot, police sad.

Police did not identify the mother or child.
