2 Charged With Stabbing At Nassau Party: Police

Police say they stabbed a man at the party multiple times before fleeing.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Two people were arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing that happened at a party in Hempstead earlier this month.

According to police, a 23-year-old man was at a party at a home on Union Place around 9 p.m. on May 5 when he got into a fight with two others. Police say the two stabbed the man multiple times in the face and body before fleeing on foot.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital with sever injuries to his chest, heart, lungs, face and other organs, which required multiple surgeries.

On May 12, police arrested Ernest Celestin, 21, of Fulton Street, Hempstead, for the attack. On May 23, police arrested Crystal Moore, 22, of Windsor Road, Uniondale.

Celestin was charged with second-degree murder (attempt), first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned on May 13.

Moore was charged with second-degree murder (attempt), two counts of first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is scheduled to be arraigned later today.
