Two MS-13 gang members from Queens were arrested in Hempstead Saturday night on drug and weapon charges, Nassau County police say.

According to police, Gang Investigation Squad detectives saw Victor Leon, 21, of Sanford Avenue, Flushing, driving a grey 2015 Honda Accord that had a broken headlight. The detectives turned on the lights on their car, police say, and pulled them over.

As they approached the car, police say the detectives saw the passenger, Eric Monge, 23, of Parsons Boulevard, Flushing, take a handgun from his sweatshirt and place it under his legs in an attempt to hid it. Both men were taken out of the car and placed under arrest.
