2 Sought For Stealing $20K In Jewelry From Nassau Home: Police

Police say it was a scam where the two people pretended to be construction workers.

WESTBURY, NY — Two people sought in connection to a grand larceny at a home in Westbury on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

An unknown man and woman showed up at the victim's front door, claiming to give estimates on concrete work, authorities said.

The 74-year-old female homeowner invited them into the home. When the man requested to use the bathroom and returned a few minutes later.

They immediately left the residence claiming to write up an estimate but exited in a grey Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck.

Once they left, the victim realized her jewelry worth approximately $20,000 was missing from her bedroom, police said.
