5 Long Island Schools Awarded $10K Each For Educational Programs
The grants, awarded through a partnership between Optimum and nonprofit DonorsChoose, will support students and educators across LI.
GARDEN CITY, NY — Five schools across Long Island have been awarded $10,000 each from Optimum in partnership with the nonprofit DonorsChoose.
Hempstead, Roosevelt, Uniondale, and Westbury Union Free School Districts were presented their amounts at a backpack distribution event hosted by Optimum and Warner Bros. Discovery at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City in July. Representatives from each district attended to accept the funding.
The remaining $10,000 will be presented to Central Islip Senior High School in mid-August.

Optimum said these donations are aimed at supporting students and educators by funding educational programs, classroom resources, and extracurricular activities.
"The contributions reflect Optimum’s ongoing commitment to supporting academic achievement and long-term success for students across Long Island," a spokesperson for Optimum said.
