Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Nassau Crash: Police
Police say the man was struck just before 9 p.m. Thursday and hospitalized.
CARLE PLACE, NY. — A 69-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday night after he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata at the intersection of Glen Cove Road and Old Country Road in Carle Place, police said.
Nassau County police said the crash occurred at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, when the 2011 Sonata being driven by a 62-year-old man hit the pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the crash, and was hospitalized for treatment, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and an investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.
