Adelphi Athletics Announces JMBCA Raffle Prizes

Garden City, N.Y. - October marks the celebration of Think Pink month in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. For the seventh straight year, Adelphi Athletics will do their part by raising awareness this month with the Jennifer Montgomery Breast Cancer Awareness event. During the entire month of October, there will be raffle tickets and "Think Pink" merchandise to raise money and awareness for the cause. All proceeds collected will be donated to the New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline. The 2012 Think Pink campaign generated nearly $6,500 which brings the University's total contribution to over $27,500.

Raffle tickets will be available to purchase throughout the entire month at various events starting tomorrow at the Kickoff which will take place in the Center for Recreation and Sport at 10:45 am. There, the Early Learning Center will be welcomed by the Athletic Staff to mark the start of the JMBCA month. At 11am, the walk around the track will be opened up to the rest of the Adelphi community.

There will be a Fun Run/Walk on Motamed Field this Saturday, October 5 from 9:30am-11am in which raffle tickets and other Breast Cancer Awareness items will also be for sale. Additionally, throughout the month, on select dates, there will be a table set up in the lobby of the University Center where raffle tickets and items will be available for purchase.
