
Garden City, N.Y. – Upon conclusion of the fall sports, the standings for the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup have been released and reveal Adelphi University sitting in 28th overall among Division II institutions. Additionally, the Panther athletic program is one of five from the Northeast-10 Conference that rank among the nation's top-32.
The Learfield Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 NCAA sports – seven women's and seven men's.
Adelphi earned points from women's soccer and the men's and women's cross country programs for a total of 114 points. They sit one point behind fellow NE-10 school American International while Stonehill is tops for the conference in 24th place. For the 2012-13 season, Adelphi finished 60th.
