Olivia Czavar (2nd team, forward), Michelle Brown (3rd team, midfield), Donna Liotine (1st team, defense), Victoria Antonino (All-Rookie, midfield), Samantha Lanza (All-Rookie, midfield), Sam Whitney (Goalkeeper of the Year, 1st team), and Chris Armas (Coach of the Year) were the winners for Adelphi.
Olivia Czavar, a Second-Team All-Conference honoree as a forward, started in all but one of the Brown and Gold's 17 games to date and leads the team in goals (8) and points (18) and also has two assists to her name. She notched the game winner for the squad on two occasions; one of which came in their most recent victory in the first round of the NE-10 Championship quarterfinal when she accounted for both of Adelphi's goals to give Adelphi a 2-1 win over St. Anselm and advance to the semifinals.
Michelle Brown is one of six women to have started and played in all 17 games. The 5-4 midfielder tallied three assists on the season and has been a fixture in the Panther lineup this year. This is the first such award for the Sydney, Australia native who was named to the All-Conference Third-Team as a midfielder.
Donna Liotine earns her second NE-10 honor of her career with inclusion to the All-Conference First-Team as a defender after being named to the All-Rookie Squad back in 2011. Starting and playing in all 17 games, the Medford, N.Y. native has helped Adelphi's back line hold opponents to just 11 total goals to date; a mark that is third best in the conference.
Victoria Antonino, a freshman who earned a spot on the All-Rookie Squad, is currently second on the team in goals (6) and points (13) to compliment her three assists. In her inaugural year, the midfielder has started in 12 games while appearing in all 17 and has tallied two game winners.
Samantha Lanza joins Antonino on the All-Rookie Squad as a midfielder. The rookie started and played in 13 games so far this year and has five points to her name on two goals and one assist. Her first goal came against Bentley when she found the equalizer to knot the game at one; the Panthers went on to win that contest.
Sam Whitney continues to rack up the awards and can now add NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Year and First-Team All-Conference to her stable of honors that include two Second-Team All-Conference and All-Rookie Squad honors. The junior keeper from West Islip, N.Y. has logged 1612:44 minutes in goal and has allowed just 11 goals for a .61 goals against average which is third best in the conference. Additionally, her 87 saves and .888 save percentage ranks fourth and third among NE-10 goalkeepers. Whitney made a career high 14 saves this year against AIC and has also registered six shutouts.
In just his third year at the helm of the women's soccer program, Chris Armas leads his squad to the NE-10 playoffs for the second time in as many years. He currently boasts a career record of 31-16-8 and a three-year conference mark of 22-11-8. Last year, he guided his eighth seeded squad to the NE10 Championship where they finished as the runner up. It marked the first time an eight seed made it to the finals in conference history. Under Armas, a total of 15 All-Conference awards have been awarded to Adelphi players which includes this year's award winners.
The third seeded Panthers return to action on Friday, November 8 when they head up to Springfield, MA to take on the second seeded Yellow Jackets of American International College.
