GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — Two people are out of their home Thursday after a fire broke out there at 3:01 a.m., fire officials said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office said the Garden City Park Fire Department responded to a two-story home on County Courthouse Road, near Broadway, in Garden City Park. Mutual aid, officials said, came from the Garden City, Mineola, South Floral Park and Steward Manor Fire Departments, with a total firefighting presence of about 50 people.
The 50-person firefighting corps took about a half hour to bring the fire under control, with no injuries reported. The two residents of the home, officials said, were displaced.
In the wake of the fire, the North Hempstead building department has been contacted to assess the damage caused by the fire, while the fire marshal’s office and NCPD arson bomb squad are investigating the cause of the fire, the fire marshal’s office said.
