The items reported took place between April 8 and April 14 and are as follows:
April 14:
GCPD officers assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire along the LIRR fence line on Manor Rd. from Edgemere Rd. to Jackson St. Officials said the fire was caused by PSEGLI overhead wires that fell due to a damaged pole line. The wires landed on the fence, which became electrified, igniting the brush along the fence line.
GCPD officers responded to a Garden City residence for a dispute between a resident and a repairman. The dispute was settled at the scene.
April 13:
GCPD took an identity theft report from a business at Garden City Plaza, where a check had been altered and cashed.
April 12:
Officers responded to a Garden City residence for a report of intentional damage to a car tire. Garden City Detectives were notified.
Officers responded to a Garden City residence for an accused larceny of a small grocery order that was said to have been taken from that location. Garden City Detectives were notified.
April 11:
Officers responded to Newmarket Rd. in the vicinity of Kildare Rd. for a report of a large loose dog. The dog was located and returned to the owner.
Officers responded to Garden City High School for a report of a group of kids possibly riding dirt bikes on the football field. Upon arrival, there were no youths on bikes in the area, and no damage was reported.
April 10:
GCPD officers responded to a Garden City residence for a neighbor dispute regarding a shared property line.
An identity theft was reported involving potentially stolen and altered bank checks, resulting in a financial loss.
April 9:
Officers responded to Washington Ave. at St James St. North for a report of the traffic signal out in all directions. Traffic was directed until the condition was corrected.
Officers responded to New Hyde Park Rd. for a report of a water main break; the Garden City Water Department responded to the scene for repair.
April 8:
GCPD responded to Adelphi University for an altercation.
