GARDEN CITY, NY — Three Garden City High School students are showcasing their musical and artistic talents.
Three creative students have earned recognition in art and music programs at the local high school.
Students Madeline Power and Mina DiLoreto have advanced to the next stage of the Roger Rees Awards process, which is a program that distinguishes student performers for excellence in musical theater.
The students will have the opportunity to audition on May 2 for the chance to perform at the Roger Rees Awards Showcase.
Student Kexin Su was chosen to exhibit his work in the National Art Education Association’s National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition. This is a competitive national showcase that showcases student artwork from members of the NAHS.
His piece was selected as one of 87 out of 2,007 submissions. The digital exhibition opened on April 10.
Garden City’s Director of Music and the Arts Ms. Akira Regan said she is incredibly proud of the way the students represent their school community.
"These accomplishments reflect not only the talent of our students, but also their dedication and ability to push themselves artistically," Regan said.
