Garden City Students Go Blue For Special Police Week Visit

Stratford Avenue students welcomed local officers with handmade cards, questions, and plenty of support during a National Police Week event.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Stratford Avenue students had a special visit from local law enforcement during National Police Week.

On May 14, the Garden City Police Department visited an elementary school and gave a question-and-answer session to teach students more about their service work.

Students prepared for the guests by creating handmade cards and drawings for the officers, and wore blue or police department clothing to show their support.

Commissioner Kneisel, Detective Steve, and other officers spent time at the school and were thanked by students for their work.
