GARDEN CITY, NY — The Incorporated Village of Garden City released its crime report for the week ending Tuesday, June 2.

The items reported took place between May 27 and June 2 and are as follows:
June 2:
- GCPD responded to a Garden City location for a report of identity theft.
- Officers responded to Kildare Rd. for a found dog; removed by the Town of Hempstead.
- Officers responded to St Joe's church for a report of larceny of golf clubs, worth $2,000, from the church garage.
- GCPD arrested a 37 year-old woman from Valley Stream after leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
June 1:
- GCPD responded to Franklin Ave. for a dispute over a parking spot, settled at the scene.
- Officers responded to Triangle Park for youths playing loud music; youths left on arrival.
May 31:
- Officers stopped a vehicle on Franklin Ave. for operating with a fraudulent plate. The vehicle was impounded, and four tickets were issued.
- GCPD responded to Middleton Rd. for a broken water main cap. Area safeguarded, Water Dept. notified.
May 30:
- GCPD participated in the 'Buckle Up NY' campaign and issued nine tickets for no seatbelt and four other violations.
- Officers stopped a motorist for operating without a seatbelt. A 34-year-old Bronx man was arrested after second-degree and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and four other traffic violations, police said.
May 29:
- Officers responded to a protest on Franklin Ave., and 15 protesters were at the scene.
- GCPD responded to a reported fraud. It was reported that an unknown person attempted to wire transfer $25,000 from a man's account. The wire transfer was stopped by the bank, and detectives are investigating.
- GCPD responded to a Garden City residence for a report that an unknown person had texted a resident demanding money. Detectives are investigating.
May 28:
- GCPD and GCFD responded to a small brush fire outside of the Garden City Library. The fire was extinguished without incident, and GCFD deemed the building safe for occupancy.
- A Garden City resident reported the loss of $921 worth of items from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway.
- Another Garden City resident reported the loss of $700 and personal identification items from a vehicle in the driveway.
May 27:
- A Garden City resident reported a loss of $5,843.94 as a result of checks that were mailed from a Merillon Ave USPS mailbox being altered and cashed.
- Officers responded to Stewart Ave. and Cherry Valley Ave. for a disabled box truck in the intersection, causing a traffic disturbance. The box truck was removed from the roadway by a tow truck.
