The items reported took place between July 8 and July 14 and are as follows:
July 14:
GCPD, GCFD, and the Garden City Building Department responded to a business on Franklin Ave. for a report of a vehicle that had jumped the curbing from a parking spot, struck a sign, and then struck the building. Upon arrival, the driver, an 80-year-old Garden City woman, had sustained minor injuries, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Officers responded to a Garden City residence for a report of a larceny involving a stolen and altered bank check, resulting in a financial loss of $5,600. Detectives are investigating.
July 13:
GCPD interviewed the manager of a Garden City business regarding a larceny involving a series of unauthorized bank wire transfers resulting in a financial loss of more than $90,000. Detectives are investigating.
Officers responded to a report of wet cement in the roadway that had spilled from a stopping cement truck. Upon arrival, the cement company was located, and a cleanup crew was sent to correct the condition without further incident.
July 12:
GCPD located a loose dog on Chestnut St. and Tremont St. Officers were able to successfully obtain owner information via the department pet chip scanner, and the owner and dog were reunited without incident.
Officers responded to a Garden City residence for a report of a loud party; upon arrival, the condition was corrected without incident.

July 11:
A GCPD officer stopped a 2005 Toyota Siena northbound on Franklin Ave. at Old Country Rd. The vehicle had switched license plates, a switched inspection sticker, a suspended registration, and no proof of insurance. The driver, a 23-year-old man, presented identification consisting of a Paraguayan license and an Italian passport. The vehicle was impounded, the warrant check was negative, and a field interview was completed.
GCPD responded to Adams St. for a tree limb blocking a sidewalk/roadway. The tree limb was cleared by the officer. A notification was made to the Village tree department to remove the limb and inspect the tree.
July 10:
GCPD responded to a Brook St. address for a grand larceny report. Caller, who was trying to adopt a dog via Facebook, sent several Zelle payments totaling $1,298 but never received the dog. The report was forwarded to the detective division.
Officers responded to a report of possible fireworks that were not ignited. Two canisters with fuses were located. NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad responded. They secured and removed the items.
GCPD traffic enforcement unit conducted a truck stop. Five commercial vehicles were inspected; four were placed out of service, and three drivers were placed out of service. One vehicle was impounded, and 49 traffic tickets were issued.
July 9:
GCPD responded to a report of a bird stuck in a window egress. The officer at the scene freed the bird, which flew away.
GCPD responded to a Garden City Plaza office for a larceny report. Caller stated she left her pocketbook with $700 and assorted credit cards in the break room, and someone stole her wallet. The report was forwarded to the detective division.
July 8:
The Garden City detective division arrested a 38-year-old Philadelphia woman for three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of second-degree identity theft, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and one count of petit larceny as a result of a December 2025 investigation. The defendant was released on an appearance ticket.
